Derek backed away from Tom, and said,"Now, no need to fight..." He then began to run, knowing it was his only option, since logical reasoning states that a sharp stick was not going to win against a sword.

Ronan heard the screams and turned his head to Layla, cracking a smile. "Well, I knew our luck couldn't hold out forever. Ready to have some fun?" He pulled out a pipe that he had grabbed from the cabana and held it, ready for action.

Daniel smirked, wielding his oar. He spun it and saw as the first infected sprinted towards him, from over the hill. He took a swing, clearing the head from the shoulders with ease. He grinned, somewhat maniacally, "It's out of here!"

Marceline shrugged and lay her head on Jake's shoulder before going back to sleep.

Jake just pulled his wife closely and stared into the darkness. This damn place had ruined his life. He couldn't even sleep anymore. He sat there in the silence, with only his thoughts to keep him company.

Daniel was still swinging at the infecteds as they sprinted their way towards him. He wasn't sure of his companion's strength, but he figured he must be decent if he fought his way out to them.

<Daniel has really only had like three words with Souji.>

On the other end of the road, Ronan was fighting with an increased amount of anger. He drew the pistol from it's sheath and took aim, squeeze off a single shot before taking out a charging enemy with the butt end of the gun.

Lixan got blown down the steps to the tower's balcony, landing at the bottom, near Nick. He then stood up, and said, "Well, because that EMP fried all the generators that were running, the first thing we should do is try to find a new power source, and I have an idea." Lixan pulled a palm size cube, and went over to one of the walls of the tower. "I need one of you to rip out some of the wire in the wall. It should be a twine of three wires."

Lixan grabbed the wire from Flynn, thanking him as he took it. "This device has to be hooked up to the electrical system, so-" He punched a hole in the wall and grabbed the wire he was talking about earlier, "-we need the other wire anyway." He used Flynn's wire and intertwined it with the others. "Now, all we need is a lightning strike to power it." He took the box up the stairs to the balcony of the tower, and set it on the ground.

Nick looked at the two men working with the wires, "There's no way that could sustain the life house for very long... It'd be better if we went and salvaged solar panels from the hotel. They'd still be working even after the EMP."

Souji smirked and his blade flashed like liquid silver, three heads rolled as he continued onward.

"We don't need more sound! I'll use my knife! Take my naginata and use that." Layla said as she slide the blade to him.

Then, another shot rang out and an infected behind Layla dropped to the ground, "Ronan!" Layla growled angrily.

"Sorry, you're a silent fighter? Smart girl." A new voice said from behind her. Layla didn't have the time to turn but recognized the voice, "Tom Imura, Closure Specialist? I'm honored." She laughed.

"How do you know me?" Tom asked confused as he pulled his katana from its sheath cutting down another zombie.

"I've heard stories." Layla said plainly as she hopped out of the way of a walker's path so that Tom had a clear swing.

Flynn glances at Nick before returning to his work and replying, "I'm not trying to make it work, I'm trying to fix the damage and prevent what he's trying to do from damaging the system any more. Give me a minute and I'll have the surge protection working again."

Lixan turned to Nick. "That's why I carry plasma in a jar." He pulled out the aforementioned substance. "This will tune my lightning gun to the right frequency, so it will imitate a lightning strike." He did the correct adjustments. "Now, I'll just wait for Flynn to get the surge protection online."

Stepping back from the wall, Flynn puts his tools back in his pocket. "The surge protection back up, but I don't understand why you think a lightning strike would do anything other than turn on the lights for a second and burn out the surge protection."

Lixan added an inverter in the circuit, then shot the lightning gun at the box, making it glow. A small arc of electricity ran down the wire, through the inverter, and into the wall, and, one-by-one, the lights came back on. "Perpetual Generator. All it needs is a rather large jump-start, and it will go for ages."

Ronan turned his head, "Imura? Weren't you in a bunker or something? Jake Smythe was telling me about it. Something about a girl named Nix?" He turned and put the naginata through an infected's stomach, before kicking it back and bashing the face in with the blunt end.

Daniel noticed that there was now a new face on the other end of the fight. It seemed as though he was friendly, with both allies acting positively towards him. He took another swing with the oar, with it snapping in his hands. He looked in horror as the the flat end of the weapon flew off in another direction.

Souji looked concerned by the break but could only throw back words of advice in assistance, "Just stab 'em with the pointy end!"

Nick raised his eyebrow, "Perpetual Generator? That's impossible! Not only would it take an infinite amount of energy to run but ALL machines lose some energy through friction even if it's just with the air. NOTHING preforms at top speed perpetually."

<Seriously, Gstol, the EMP was made to limit everyone and you pull a generator out of NOWHERE?>

The flash mob <hehe> of zombies was being cut through, rather easily, almost too easily. Ronan didn't have time to really think about it. He was busy taking care of himself and his companions. He made sure that every kill was precise, well executed, and was quick to the point.

Daniel took the advice and ran with it, literally. He had picked up on it being easier to charge an infected, rather than wait for it to get to him. He watch in almost complete joy as each of the infected bastards suffered threw their re-death.

He took to sweeping out the legs of infected, stabbing them in the back of the head as they squirmed on the ground, trying to get back up.

He kicked away a recent kill, just as he heard the scream. Then another, and a third. His eyes opened in horror as three butchers charged, closing in quickly.

<Yes I know this doesn't actually happen in the game.>

Ronan heard Layla's comment, turned, and winked, "I'll take good care of it." The kid turned and noted the direction of the three, one to the left, one to the right, and one from behind them. "The easy way was never any fun anyway," he said softly, almost to himself.

Daniel nodded at the sound of Souji's voice. He couldn't help but shake a little, all he had to defend himself was a broken stick of a weapon. He swallowed hard and watched as the Butchers stood watching. It was odd really. Why hadn't they attacked yet? What were they waiting for?

Daniel took a step back and stepped on the the arm of a killed infected. The snapping of the forearm sent the trio into a frenzy, all charging at once. The poor Nebraska kid was in a fight for his life, again.

<Not from nowhere, remember that Lixan never lost any of his items, apart from the ones from the final battle with Eon that old Nick gave him. That and Lixan would be able to create a rudimentary one of those with some metal and another non-metal conductive material.>

Lixan explained to Nick. "This generator actually keeps duplicating the 'lightning strike' inside it and releases that energy, thus creating 'perpetual' energy. Of course, this thing is kept in this state by my life force, so it's not completely perpetual. It's only powering the lights and power point anyway."
