"Denied," Wayne said bluntly, opening a Dark Corridor behind himself.

"Let him go," Erntxt instructed as Wayne backed into the Corridor with him, "I'll take care of him."

Wayne simply rolled his eyes at Erntxt's arrogance and closed the corridor behind him.

~Shadow Dimension~

Wayne and Erntxt exited the corridor. Immediately, Erntxt felt a surge of power. His muscles once again grew to immense sizes, the collar snapping open as his neck bulged. He immediately swatted Wayne away with a backhand.

"Did you honestly think that would hold me here?" Erntxt asked as he crushed the remains of his collar.

"No," Wayne said between coughs, "But I figured they could."

Before being able to question Wayne's words, Erntxt was blasted to the ground and restricted by energy bonds. It was then that he realized just where he was. He turned around and saw the Shadows themselves standing before him.

"Not bad, old timer," Erntxt said to Astaroth, who merely glared in response before waving his hand and sending Erntxt's bonds to take the traitor away.

"Thank you for your services, mercenary," Astaroth addressed Wayne, "You'll find your pay in full at your mansion."

"It was my pleasure," the soldier replied, exiting through a Dark Corridor.

"We will go through the procedure soon," Astaroth told his allies.

The Masked Gunslinger was silent as always.

Looking over his empty chamber he somehow generated shots inside.

Almost like he didn't empty the chamber at all.

Like through an illusion.

<For the record all I see of Sally is my girlfriend.

Our year anniversary is coming up.

Dante stared blankly into the row and rows of white magic. The healing magic. Its presence was like a cruel joke to him now because no magic could bring him back from Solara except necromancy, and he promised himself to never be so rash to reanimate any one ever again.

Aleri bowed his head. ...It's just... sad. Somebody died, and we couldn't do anything about it... "...White Magic exists to prevent people from dying. Thousands of White Mages have tried, and failed, to bring back the dead. Dante... I'll teach you, so that in the future, nobody important to you ever has to die."

He picked several thin volumes off the shelf. "...We'll start with the basics. Cure heals minor wounds and soothes pain, but can be surprisingly effective, depending on the spirit of the caster. This is the first thing to learn. Then, we'll work on Raise, which wakes up those who hass fallen unconscious, and Esuna, which heals status ailments."

Aleri summoned TELOS and jabbed his hand on a spike. "GAAAAAAH!! FFfffffrrrrgh... DANG, that hurts...!"

He seemed to remain relatively calm, but his voice was shaking a little. "D-Dante, t-try using Cure on m-me. Focus on the p-part of me that's inj-jured-d, a-and pour some m-m-magic energy into it-t. T...Think warm and-d s-soothing, and picture m-my hand w-without this p-p-profus-sely-bleeding-g w-wound."

"Why couldn't you just...like...take me to a medical center and find someone with a minor injury" he asked as he watch Aleri's self inflected puncture wound bleed for a few more minutes (cough20minutescoughcough) then he focused on the hole, but it only half closed and most of the bleeding stopped, with some blood still dripping to the ground.

Aleri half grinned, half grimaced. "Th... that was an okay attempt. When you're really good, you can heal some fairly serious injuries with only the basic Cure. It's the easiest in its family, and the most energy-efficient. Faster to charge, too. ...C-could you cast it again, just to finish it up? We'll keep practicing until you get it right."

...No... nonono... what have I gotten myself into?! I must be the dumbest teacher in the universe... Knowing this kid, he'll screw up on purpose just to watch me stagger around in pain...

"...S-see, if you heal incorrectly... it can actually cause permanent damage. I'm... build differently from normal people... so a bad Cure spell wouldn't mess me up. Aside f-from making my hand-d ache a little..."

He smiled innocently even though Aleri's thoughts were right. "Ofcourse Aleri, ill heal you" he said. Then restarted the process of healing up the hole in his hand.

Aleri's smile became rather... plastic. I can't let him test his healing on normal people, but my sanity can't take cutting myself and having him heal me... Well, at least I'll get him back for this when he has to learn to heal his own injuries... Mweheheh.

"The alternative is to get some of my friends, and cut them up for you to heal. I guess I'll just have to man up and deal with the pain." Indeed, it seemed like Aleri had swallowed it, and was getting over the idea of what he was going to experience for the next few hours.

He cut himself again. "Okay, now try healing the whole wound with one spell. If you can't do that, repeatedly cast it until I'm healed. After this, we'll try healing from a distance, then healing multiple wounds at once."

He nodded, raising his hands up, touching his finger tips to the heel of the opposite hand on both, focusing on Aleri's cut. The wound slowly but surely closed up

Aleri nodded in satisfaction. "You're doing pretty well. I thought it might take a couple of tries, but I guess I'm underestimating your skills. ...You know, the hand positioning is unneccessary. Of course, some people find it easier to concentrate with stuff like that, so if it helps, go ahead and use it."

He took several steps back and cut himself again. "Let's see if you can heal me from over there! We'll see how far you can effectively use Cure, then see how much you can heal with one spell."

<...Imagining the cut...? Did he imagine it vanishing, getting bigger, or what? I'd assume he's trying to heal, but knowing Dante... he may be experimenting with inflicting pain, rather than healing it.>

He imagined it shrinking and healing for a moment, then considered making it growand bleed more...but just healed him instead

"...Good, you can use Cure effectively, even at a distance. It's pretty hard to cast healing spells from a distance, since you have to focus more, and it takes more energy." Aleri pulled and Ether out of his pocket and tossed it to Dante.

"Now, try healing me when I have multiple injuries. First, beat me up. Then, heal me. I'll even stand here and take your attacks. I'd beat myself up, but, uh... I don't think it's possible for me to hit myself with TELOS without cutting myself in half. The thing's way too powerful."

Dante nodded and raised his hands. "Paul! Here Boy!" He called to the beast. The white, blind Domi ripped up from the ground below Aleri and jumped to his master. "Okay Paul, beat up Aleri, but don't eat or kill him" he commanded. The creamt white, blind creature rushed its target automatically.
