The man smiled a bit, "New around here? The tavern's that way." He said pointing to the east in the exact opposite direction, " I can show you if you want."

Nick nodded, "Yeah, the moogles aren't lying to you. They're usually pretty reliable." Responding to Archer's earlier explanation and surprised by their similar circumstances. He then turned on Nathan, "Then, why not rest up? Anything that happens here, I can handle. You've seen me fight before."

Dante appeared seconds after Maya. Nightmare raised Soul Edge slowly and seemed to laugh as he dropped the heavy blade's edge down on Dante first. Boy was he in for a shock. The child deflected the blade with his sword and effectively held him in place for a moment. "Give me Eoni Back!" He snapped before jerking the demon back a step.

Nightmare's minions swarmed all over. "His soul is mine to devour child, soon my hunger shall become your downfall" he slashed his blade on the entire group in a surprisingly wuick horizontal strike. Dante ducked and rolled in-between his legs and into the horde of creatures of choas and negativity

"I look powerful, huh?" Archer snorted. "Eh, whatever." She didn't, of course, look anything special. Her mana pool was low and her strength was low for a Counter Guardian and Heroic Spirit. "Seeing as how I don't know anything and you two look like you know your way around, how about I lend my services to you two. For a fee, of course. A girl's gotta have some money on hand. And I mean fighting. I'm a good marksman."

"I don't need services, as you might be amazed at the things I can do, but you could do me a favor which I will still pay you for. By now I can hardly walk, so I want you to go to the Synthesis shop and buy 5 Orichalums. Here's 10,000 Munny to buy them, and 1,000 for your pay. Don't say it's too much because it's not." Nathan said.

Nick shrugged, "I don't see why not. We're both in the same boat so I could use the help. I do have munny to spare..." He said plainly.

Lance surged forward, a powerful slash knocked Nightmare's blad hand off balance as followed up with a three slash combo hoping to gain ground.

Archer turned to Nick with a speculative look and nodded. "Huh. Ok. I think we could work something out," turning back to Nathan, she shrugged as she took the munny. "Fine. I've got the inn marked in my sights, so I'll meet you two there."

Her body shimmered and then she was gone.

Nick shrugged as Archer vanished, "I've seen crazier. Need help to get to the inn, Nathan or are you alright on your own?" He asked speculatively.

"I just told her I barely had the energy to walk.. Hmph, I'm fine." Nathan said, FCing to the inn and starting to wait for Archer near the entrance.

Now's my chance!

Aleri hit the ground again, generating his blue light column. "Rekkoha!"

This time, it was a large number of smaller columns, rapidly showing up and then vanishing, rapidly delpeting Ravain population. He finished with one huge, final column to try and damage the rest of them.

Once he was done, he leapt over lance and the Nightmare, slashing at it from behind with TELOS.

"...oh." Sylvia bit her lip as the man pointed her in the opposite direction. I was completely on the wrong track... "I'll manage." She shrugged, sheathing her sword and heading in the direction he had showed her before anything else threatened to wound her pride.

This place is certainly making me look like a hapless idiot, that's for sure...

"See ya 'round, sir!" She waved back to him, before continuing on her path.

"Goodbye!" The young man called and walked off in the opposite direction.

Nick rolled his eyes, "And then there was one." He picked a jogging pace and headed for the inn in the second district.

"Here you go," Archer touch-landed in front of the inn with a deft movement and held out a box that held five star-shaped, aqua-coloured jewels. "Your rare metals." She said to Nathan.

Nathan grabbed the metal. "Thanks" Nathan said, deciding to just FC to his room. He collapsed on his bed right away.

"Huh. At least someone uses his legs," Archer nodded in approval. "Puts you higher in my books. So, you're Nick, right? Just in case you're wondering, Archer really isn't my name. But I've given up on my old one. Hope we can get along, since you seem pretty damn strong."

As Nightmare regain his balance, his massive arm caught Aleri's strike and then eveloped his arms and chest before slamming him head first into the ground. Then he launched him at Lance as Soul Edge blazed up to impale them both.

Lance caught Aleri and set him down before surging forward, "Bath in the light!" A barrier erected itself around Sould Edge except for the eye as he caught Soul Edge by the blade and raised his keyblade stabbing the sword in its eye, "Morning Star!" He called out unleashing the spell into the socket.

Nick nodded, "Alright then, Heartless are a person's heart corrupted by the power of darkness. They seperate themselves from the body and hunt for more hearts, the brighter the light within the better." He said tring to explain the subject.

Aleri hit the ground coughing up a little blood. "Nuts... This guy's tougher than I thought, if he could grab TELOS midswing..." He cast Cura on himself, standing back up. "You're not going to beat me, that's for sure!"

He threw TELOS at the Nightmare, then slid past him, aiming a slash with Broken Soul...

<You know what's funny? I've been playing Megaman X6 recently. And you know what the problem is that compels you to go out and shoot stuff? The Nightmare Phenomenon. Not as bad as THIS Nightmare in power, but in gameplay, those bastards are the worst... They can screw you into having to replay the whole game.>
