You should add Pica as a NV factor.

What kind of encounters are expected to show up? What is society like these days?

Expect random encounters from bandits, psychos (Type Os in particular), military. Society is in total collapse and communication between everyone is down. It's in total collapse.
Re: Monument 14: A Survivor's Story Notes
All right. I'm rather impressed with what you, Bill and Terrence have done with this, nice job man.

Re: Monument 14: A Survivor's Story Notes
Well, I had an idea pertaining to Traits and Disadvantages with certain armor and weapon rarity requirements, e.g.
Made with Love: Increases Res by 1 when wearing Unique Rarity armor, but increases Hunger by 10%
Thoughts? Comments?

Wouldn't +10% DT make more sense? Res is a mental stat and doesn't really change based on armor.

Re: Monument 14: A Survivor's Story Notes
Well, armor would reduce skin exposure to NORAD gas, which would increase Res, especially for chars with Blood Type A. And btw, DT? What's that, exactly?

Re: Monument 14: A Survivor's Story Notes
Res is resistance to the gas on a mental level as it primarily effects the nervous system. That's what causes the blood blisters/boils.
And DT is Damage Threshold, i.e. how much damage a equipment peice absorbs.

Damage Threshold. And unless the armor was completely hermetically sealed with it's own supply of air, the toxin would still get in.

You're right. This idea is still in beta, so that was just a presentation of the concept. The actual traits will be different.

If there is crafting involved...
(Item) of (Miniscule)(Minor)(Normal)(Major) Crafting
Increases crafting by X%, but reduces DT by Y%

Re: Monument 14: A Survivor's Story Notes
Why would something that buffs Crafting debuff DT? Why not make it drop something like Repair or Scavenge?ii

Re: Monument 14: A Survivor's Story Notes
Im thinking of having notes for crafting carved into the armor. That would make it weaker, right?

Re: Monument 14: A Survivor's Story Notes
Not really, considering that would be kind of useless, as Crafting is mostly a mental stat. Maybe an amulet that buffs Crafting and Int, but decreases Crm?

Re: Monument 14: A Survivor's Story Notes
Glasses or gloves that do that sort of thing would make sense. We're trying to stay away from mystical mumbo jumbo as much as possible.
Re: Monument 14: A Survivor's Story Notes
Fair enough. Would it be OK to make a weapon with technology that adds elemental damage?
E.g. Sword of Liquid Fire
Components required:
1x Sword (any metal sword will do)
1x Napalm Tank (very rare component) OR 1x Alien Weapon Crystal (need to destroy.an alien weapon, or find one; also very rare)
1x Injection System (made of:
3x Hoses
3x Fittings
3x Valves)
Thoughts?

Re: Monument 14: A Survivor's Story Notes
Would it be ok? Absolutely. Would it be very late game and require a very high dexterity. Also, yes.
Re: Monument 14: A Survivor's Story Notes
Or a very high Scavenge stat and amazing luck...

Re: Monument 14: A Survivor's Story Notes
That would be to obtain the items necessary. Making the weapon is what would require dexterity.
Re: Monument 14: A Survivor's Story Notes
Yeah. I actually plan on my character to be a engineer type, I.e high Dexterity, good scavenge and crafting, etc.

Re: Monument 14: A Survivor's Story Notes
Sorry, this is idea and topic is cancelled. I was too busy to run it and it got way out of my original idea while I was gone. Sorry.
Re: Monument 14: A Survivor's Story Notes
How so? All that's happened is people rummaging around for stuff. All that's been found is a skateboard with one wheel missing and a large basket.

Re: Monument 14: A Survivor's Story Notes
No, two skateboards (One of which was used by someone who wasn't a skater to perform tricks IMMEDIATELY), an ACETYLENE TORCH (You can't buy those at a normal department store -_-), and there's already some sort of crafting thing going on... Which shouldn't be happening so early... I just can't handle all of the stuff I'd have to write up just for the stuff that was FOUND let alone all of the stuff that could be created if they already had crafting materials before even leaving the first area...
Re: Monument 14: A Survivor's Story Notes
We could always say "Cue the edits" and basically just CTRL+Z it up. (Note: I just don't want to see this die, dammit, gstol!)

Re: Monument 14: A Survivor's Story Notes
Well, it's that and I'm just too damn busy anymore to RUN it. The calculations and stuff that we were thinking of are far too time consuming for anyone to even consider handling... It was a little too ambitous of a project to be absolutely honest.
