Randal slipped his Poketech into his pocket. "...So, should our groups split up and take different paths through the forests leading to Petalburg? Maybe leave at different times?"

"Seriously?" asked Cain. He gave Randal the Are You Crazy look. "Why would we bother? It's harder to walk through the forest, since there's already a path, and it's not as though Obsidian will notice us walking the distance to a single town over. And leaving at different times would just make everything take longer. I think we should just go to Petalburg and split up from there."

"Don't you think a large group of kids coming into a city all at once would be a little suspicious? In fact, to hell with the strategic benefits, why not do it for fun?" Randal suggested.

"For once, I can actually take a side with one of you," said Brian, nodding at Cain.

"H-hey, you're supposed to be on my side! We're teammates, aren't we?" Randal blurted.

"That's beside the point," he corrected, "I'm thinking in terms of strategy, and right now, your over-complicating things."

"Aw, man..." Randal gave up on the idea, trying to think of the point that they WOULD seperate. "...Hrm, what about Rustboro City?"

After storing Yamask in his Poke ball, Kayla quickly runs to catch up with Cain. "What are you all talking about?" she asks, slightly winded.

"When we should split up. I was thinking just after Petalburg. Some of us could take a ship down to Dewford, then to Slateport, some of us could go through the forest, and from there through the tunnels to Fallarbor and Verdanturf." Cain consulted his map again. "Looks like only one group will need to go to Dewford and Slateport, since there aren't any other divisions in the path from there. Assuming, of course, that we can actually GET across the water when we get there."

Checking her Poketch as well, Kayla ponders about the possible routes to take. "We could go through the forest, to Rustboro, the Cave after that... which puts us close to Mauville... from there we could go north... but there's a volcano up there, and I don't think that'd be a way we should go... But if we don't, we can't really go anywhere else unless there's a ferry..." She pauses, then blushes, realizing she had been ranting. "S-sorry. Um... It's up to you guys," she finishes, twirling her scythe back and forth.

"Yeah, just south of Petalburg Forest - which, oddly enough, is closer to Rustboro - is pretty much the best location on this part of the region for an overseas trip to Dewford. The nearest port city is Slateport."

<Ugh, it's been too long since I played. I can't remember the names of the cities and towns. I had to look up Rustboro's name!>

Petalburg (first city with a gym, west of Oldale, fifth gym)
Rustboro (First gym, far west)
Dewford (Southwest, island, second gym)

Mauville (North of Slateport, third gym)
Verdanturf (Between Mauville and Rustboro)
Fallarbor (far north)
Lavaridge (past the volcano, fourth gym)
Fortree (north, on the eastern half, sixth gym)
Lilycove (east)
Mossdeep (island in the east, seventh gym)
Pacifidlog (south, east of Slateport)
Sootopolis (Hiding in a rock)

"What do you think, Cain?" Kayla politely asks. "I made my point, you and Kyouko should voice yours."

Randal shrugged, pulling out his Poketech and consulting his own map. "Sounds good to me."

Cain simply replied, "Like I said, only one team needs to go that way, since there's all of one gym before any possible meeting point. After that, we should probably split up at...Rustboro, then further at Mauville."

"Once we hit Rustboro we'll have two ways to keep going," Brian injected, "Two groups should head west towards Verdanturf and split up at Mauville. The rest of us'll head north figure things out then."

Lock looked at the dragon trainer then started after him. "Ill go with you, I don't have a team yet" he said. Aipom looked at Dratini. "Aipa" the monkey piped, tail swining.
