Cain chose not to immediately respond to the professor, preferring to answer to the one with the Growlithe. "Well, guess what? They don't know we exist right now. ANd guess what else? They know we aren't strong. They won't want to waste effort. THey'll send out the weakest ones they think can beat us so the strong ones can go do the more important things. So in all likelihood, by the time they realize we're a threat to them, we'll be too strong for their lame-ass grunts." Cain shook his head.

Then, he decided to end the argument by changing the subject. "I vote we split up. If we're all travelling together, we won't get stronger, we'll most likely just get in each other's way. More people, more battle division, less combat experience. And for any of you who actually care what my name is, I'm Cain."

"HELLO EVERYONE I AM ADAM CROSS!" Adam practically yelled out to everyone. " And since we are on the sunject it may not be verysmart to split up. I mean if the less of us are to togather that simply makes us a weaker target."

Nodding to Cain and Adam, Dwayne says, "I'm Dwayne Etoile. I think that rather then travel completely separately, we should travel in small groups, around three people in a group. We'll still be able to gain experience at a normal rate and we'll be able to defend ourselves if we find a stronger opponent."

"Randal Lapin. I say we split up. Travelling with all of you at once would give me a headache." He glared at the one who called himself Cain. "...And I don't think destroying Littleroot Town was very cost-effective, or helpful to their goals. They'll do this **** because they feel like it, or if they think they should."

"I umm..." Eli blanched. She hated public speaking... "I'm Eli Salazar and...this is my Pokemon Electrike," she gestured to the electric puppy who was loyally staying close to Ralts's side with a concerned whine, knowing all too well that the Psychic type would have felt the tension built between the crowd of trainers. "I...I also believe that travelling in smaller groups would be beneficial to us all. We need to be discreet during travelling, and I think it would promote personal growth as well as closer-knitted teamwork. Umm...that's all," she finished with a weak smile, before quickly looking away with a sense of relief at saying her piece on the matter.

Stepping forward, the battle she was to have currently forgotten, Kayla speaks up, her voice quavering at first then steadying as she speaks. "M-my name is Kayla Masterson... And I think smaller groups would be better. To travel in large groups would be suicidal and would also be difficult to manage. I think that we should split up into teams of three, so that each team can cover most other types. That's my opinion..."

Cain replied to Randal, "There used to be a research lab there. Ever consider they might've wanted to destroy it?" He sighed.

Randal shrugged. "Why not just send guys in to destroy the lab, then? Why bother with the town? It was unneccessary and cruel, and that's why we're going to beat the hell outta them! Now shut up and let everybody do their introductions."

"Oh?" Eli looked surprised at Randal's remark on her name. "Umm...thanks, but I don't think I know you," she admitted with an apologetic frown. "Although I think I would have remembered someone who calls himself 'Shadow the Hedgehog'." A flicker of a smile graced her lips before it disappeared at the quickly emerging tension that was building up between Cain and the Fire user. "Uhh...not this again," she sighed under her breath, turning to look at Maya. "What do you think we should do, Miss Maya?"

Then again, I can't say I like anyone else here, either...and I really hope none of the others are like this guy...not only is he dense, he's also unfriendly. Only thing worse is if he were a selfish jackass...

Randal immediately turned to Maya and shook his head frantically, eyes wide with panic. "Er, I'll cut it out, just don't use Confusion on us!" He begged, apologetic. "I may not be a Fighting Type Pokemon, but that doesn't mean I'm immune to serious headaches!"

Cain blinked. "It's...a level five Ralts. I don't think it knows Psychic yet...Hell, it's lucky just to know Confusion. Riolu only knows Quick Attack and Foresight."

"Small groups," Brian said as he approached, sword on his belt, Chikorita following close behind, "Once we start getting better, we won't want the attention of a large group, and I gather you won't be letting us fly solo, Professor."

"But for their own sake, don't put these two numbskulls together," he added, indicating Randal and Cain, "With any luck they'll have maimed each other by the first day. Oh, and it's Brian."

Ralts complied, firing a blast of Confusion that pounded on Cain and Randal's minds.

Maya couldn't help but smirk as she comforted the small Psychic type, "You two deserved that. She can sense the animosity between the two of you..."

Maya stood up, "You all talk about Littleroot saying it was senseless... I was there. I grew up in Littleroot. And it was a breeding ground for up and coming trainers. Every year young men and women came from far and wide to get their starters. And most of the time, those same people would go on to reach the Elite Four. They didn't want that kind of challenge to their power."

She lifted Ralts into her arms and looked to all the trainers, "We're that challenge and until we get stronger, it's too dangerous to travel as a large, unorganized group."

"Okay, ow..." said Cain, rubbing the side of his head, before replying, "Yeah? Well look where that got 'em. All of us. I say we make our way to their base, fight all of the ones we see on the way, and knock them clean out of the atmosphere."

Randal would have made the comparison between the two, and said that they were pretty much the same... but he was too busy clutching his head and rolling on the ground, moaning in pain. He tried his best to talk, but it just came out as garbled nonsense.

"Tuoba gniklat m'i taht! Nwod tuc teg tsuj d'ew! Gaakakhkkah!"

Meanwhile, Growlithe was sprawled several feet away from Randal, apparently unharmed by the attack, looking at his Trainer curiously. Not that it likely that it would've affected him, even if he were closer.
