Kirby sighed. No point just looking out at the nothingness. But that group of people...what had they been doing? He hadn't stuck with them long enough to find out. He shrugged. Not important. The important thing was...............he didn't know. Surviving? But why? Reproduction? Yeah, so many girls wanted to get with him. Especially with actual other guys out there still, and within the same city even. Living for the sake of it? But what was the sake of it? There was nothing to do. Saving the world? What world?

Darius flashed in. "Wondering what to do with yourself?"

Kirby nodded. "Yeah. But bring up any sort of contract and you go over the side of this building."

"Relax, I wasn't going to bring it up. You just seemed depressed. Figured I'd come around."

Kirby looked at him sideways. "You're joking, right?"

"No. Why?"

"You're not the type to just show up to try and give someone the will to live."

"Kid, you have no idea what I'm the type to do."

"Well, considering how constantly you pester me..."

"Ah, fair point. But all the same." Darius shrugged. "I don't like seeing possible...let's call them clients. I don't like seeing potential clients suffer."

"I thought we've been through this. I'm not a potential client. I'll accept your service when hell freezes over."

"I could easily arrange for that."

Kirby shoved the man. "You know exactly what I mean. Look, I need to do something. Any suggestions?"

"See if you can find anyone else who...y'know, isn't dead."

"Why, so you can kill them?"

"I thought you said I couldn't directly interfere?"

"I...yeah. Okay, I'll be on my way then." Kirby stepped to the side of the building. "Still don't know what I'm doing here. But then again...does anyone?" He jumped, grabbing onto the lowest level of the fire escape before he could hit the ground. He let himself drop.

The kid, not a day over 19, looked up hopefully. "I appreciate it, boyo. Name's Ronan McDowell. I was a member of the security before this all happened."

"Names Leo" I grunted as I suddenly pressed a gloved hand on his forearm, blue flames flashed up his arm but didn't burn his skin, then it was gone. Ronans arm was perfectly healed. "How'd you get trapped under that thing anyway?"

Kirby travelled around a bit. Nobody...just a few zombies, which he cut down. Not so much with the problems there. But where was everyone? The zombies couldn't have gotten everybody he hadn't met. He stopped for a bit. Nobody. Not one person. He thought a moment. Zombies all over the place. A good hiding spot...a bomb shelter? No, nobody could get into those. A church? Would anyone think of that? Well, it was worth trying...but were there any around? Kirby climbed up on top of a nearby car, onto someone's garage, and up on top of their house to look for one.

Xetus was walking up to Kirby like a shade, mute and quick. "Sup midget?" He said as he lit up a cigarette.

[Haar_Dragon]

Kirby didn't flinch. "I'm not that short. And I'm looking for a church. Figure there might be some people there. You know if there is one?"

Darius looked at the two from the building he still stood on. "Well, time to get going." He appeared suddenly on a street in upper Michigan. "Let's see if anyone's around, shall we?" If he could coerce one or two people, the day wouldn't be a complete waste. Of course, with all the TV people watched, it might be difficult to find any. Then again, there might be a bar somewhere he could scope out.

"I see, ill help you if you want"

[Haar_Dragon]

"Yeah, sure. More help can't hurt." He looked around. "See anything?"

He looked around slowly, then spotted a large cobblestone building with large towers and what could be a cross. "That it?"

[Haar_Dragon]

Kirby looked at the building. "So it would seem." He jumped from the roof. "Alright, I'm headed there. You coming?"

[Atlantis_Rising]

Ronan smiled sheepishly. "Well I was trying to set a trap for one of those," he paused a moment, "well I call 'em screamers, but I tripped over the trip wire and pulled the damn thing on top of me. Just a good thing the explosive didn't work." He looked down at his arm. "Thank you kindly. Been here for maybe an hour. Scary as all hell hearing people running from them things." He stood up carefully. "You two mind if I stick with you I tag along? I've been on my own for awhile now. Be nice if I could talk to someone other than myself for once." He stood silently looking at the pair.

I nodded. "I'm fine with it if Layla is" I said as I tuck my arms behind my head.

Xetus nodded. "Well I'm not allowed on certain planes....but I think I didn't do much to God himself. As forgiving as he is." He leapt to another building, landing shakily on the slightly eroded cement before gesturing for him to follow

[Atlantis_Rising]

Ronan seemed to be looking past Leo. "Alright thank ya kindly." He drew a pistol from his belt and squeezed off one shot, putting down a zombie not too far away. "Bastards."

[Haar_Dragon]

"Sounds fine to me." Kirby walked on ahead, in the general direction of the church. It would take probably about five or ten minutes to reach on foot. "So, how exactly did you know where I was?" he asked as he walked.

"I followed the demon, plus I can track pretty well"

I looked back. "I could've killed him...but thanks for the help" I said as I crossed my arms.

[Haar_Dragon]

"Followed him? How exactly do you follow someone who just appears wherever the hell he wants?"

[Eques tenebrarum]

"He can teleport but he also leaves a slight radiation of engery and death in the air"

[Haar_Dragon]

"Death, huh? Why am I not surprised." Kirby pulled out his knife and scratched at the buildings. No real reason. Just that they were there.

Layla pushed a hand through her dark hair gripping her knife carefully as she scanned Ronan, "Security are issued firearms? Think we could find others? Our group only has homemade equipment at the moment. Giving Naoto a gun could give us the upperhand we need should an emergency break out." She twirled at the sound of an Infected sprinting towards them. With brutal precision, she spun and kicked it to the dirt before stomping in its head.

"I thought I was done with this ****." She glared at the remains before returning her attention to Ronan, "Oh, and another thing. Have any idea where we could find some champagne? We need diamonds but the person that has them won't give 'em up unlesss we get her champagne..." Layla rolled her eyes, clearly irritated by the drug laden bungalow they had just left.

He looked at Layla. "The faster we get the diamonds, the faster we get persona...and we can get back"

Ronan chuckled with Leo's comment. "I'm just doing my job." He looked to Layla. "Honestly? No we aren't supposed to have them, how ever there's a gun cabinet near where I was when the infected busted into the security room. I only had time to grab this pistol" He started to look at the pistol, and started counting the clips in his pocket. "This thing won't last much longer."

[Haar_Dragon]

They'd arrived at the church. "Here we are." Church...he hadn't been there since he was seven. So long ago. And it hadn't ended well. Kirby shivered, but entered the building.

[Eques tenebrarum]

Xetus stopped next to him. "What's up?"

[Haar_Dragon]

Kirby shook his head. "Nothing..." He heard something around a corner. "Hang on a sec." He walked around the corner to see a guy lying on his back, stiff as a board, with light blue hair, which was short where it wasn't hanging in his face. His eyes were closed, but he definitely didn't look dead. Kirby kicked his side, and he twitched.

"Ignore it, it'll go away..." the guy whispered to himself.

"...I can hear you."

[Atlantis_Rising]

Ronan looked at the other two. "Well, now let's gone on with it, boyo. Where are we two men and the lass headed off to?"
