...Eh, I'll indulge you on this one I guess.
Nintendo 2DS, Pokémon X Version, a new set of headphones, a new coat, new gloves, a new set of thick warm socks, a copy of Mega Man Legends(!), a facial hair trimmer, pants, a hoodie... Oh, and a coat rack. And a scarf. I think that was pretty much it, but I'm sure I'm forgetting something.

Once I get the dang thing up and going, I got a capture card device, so I'll upload a video of a test run of that. Finally, the world of LPing opened to me!

OH! MY! GOD!
I got one as well! This is so crazy, what are the odds? Thankfully I don't have to look for Legends 2 because my local Game shop that deals with ALL games and systems was selling that for $42 and I bought it in a heart beat.

Clothes, bath products, the usual.
Also one of those ps4thingamajigs with a turtle beach headset, and various games and whatnot for it. I plan to just let it rot in my closet for now, if I cannot convince mother to return or let me sell/trade it.
Basically, both my birthday and this holiday failed hilariously.

Re: Post your Stash!
Only you would call a PS4 "failed hilariously," Maverick.
As for myself, I obtained the following:
Gamecube
Pikmin 3
A glowing Nunchuck
Classic Controller Pro
Various clothing, including gloves, socks, hats, and a necklace.
Lots of self-care things, ie toothpaste, foot-scrubbing stuff
A couple of CDs
Lots and lots of chocolate and other candy.
And a pair of binoculars...I swear my aunt was drunk when she thought of that. No kidding.
And I saw all of those things coming, strangely enough. Still, I refuse to not be happy on Christmas day. And as a Christmas gift to myself, I organized my video games. It took me an hour, but now I know where all the games are. For the most part. All the home console ones, anyway.

Re: Post your Stash!
Well, mostly just the console ones in my room. DS/3DS are still scattered all over the place because the boxes where I keep those are on a shelf and I didn't feel like getting them down. Plus I ran out of time. And the Wii/Wii U games are at the other end of the house, so I settled for organizing the controllers out there. I'll organize the games next time I'm out there...so probably tomorrow, since I'll most likely go play Sonic Lost World.
...Ice World. Stage 2. So much hate. So glad to have beaten it. a;lghrjeaigp;tshe.
Buuuut yeah. Mostly organized. Why do I always get way off even my own topic?

Re: Post your Stash!
Because you're you....and yeah ... my organizing was the entirety of the collection (minus snes and atari cause they're in storage) so that's games for 8 consoles and it took me about 4 hours

Re: Post your Stash!
Zeldaman, it still beats out the majority of games today. Thanks for sharing. I gave my brother-in-law my old wii, but I think he was most happy for some of the n64 games I gave him.
Haar, the reason I said failed hilariously is that I had explained to my mother how bad the new consoles are, how there is nothing out for them that intrigues me, why the majority of game commentators that actual are worth listening to argue that one should wait if one even has a desire for one. She replied "okay, I will make sure that they do not send one up."
Turns out she had one already...
She also says there is a xbone waiting, but I put my foot down.
I mean, I would rather have been allowed to buy myself some Soviet gear, or a Romanian knock off scope for my Dragunov replica, or some basic things like some good books or what not, than own a ps4. I just didn't buy stuff for myself because of really lame reasons, but I cannot really communicate what I would like to have to my folks or anyone else.
You have to understand as well that my father plays a part in getting this crap, like when he had her get yet another ps3 with MOVE and a kinect xbox 360, simply because he wanted to see the technology. He looks at it for like a day, then goes back to looking at other shiny things...

Ahhh. I see. Truth be told, I could care less about the PS4 at the moment. Actually, no, I'm lying, I really couldn't. I know what you mean, though. I tried to describe a Gamecube to my mom, and she still kept calling it a "purple box." Funny enough, I ended up with a black one. No complaints here, though.

Re: Post your Stash!
Legends does, in fact, kick ass. But only when I'm not panicking and failing to remember the difference between the turning and strafing controls, and how to effectively combine my methods of movement to evade attacks and position myself. I'll admit, I kind of suck at the game. But I DID manage to pull off the Ultimate Strategy: circle-strafe and fire at the enemy. ...I feel pretty bad about the fact that I let a chunk of Downtown and most of City Hall get wrecked. Bleh, I need to practice that. Still, the first major dungeon wasn't as bad as I expected.
Edgar, I think you need to practice a bit, too. Keep your mouth under careful control, and limit any stuttering, pauses, "uhhh"s, and try to speak with confidence. I know, I know, easier said than done, but that's why I say to practice. At my old school, there was an event late in the year. Students would get on the auditorium stage and try to talk to the audience for as long as possible without saying "like" "uh", or other such things we don't think about in conversation. Two people lasted about 17 seconds, and I lasted for more than two minutes before I decided that I shouldn't discourage anybody else from trying by making it unreasonably long. It was just a matter of keeping my mouth in check while I spoke.
If I can do it, I'm sure you can, too. If you scripted certain parts of what you're saying, then you wouldn't have to improvise as much, cutting down on the chance of error, or forgetting anything important. And this is more specific, but most people hate it when LPers read the on-screen text out loud. It's like subtitles in reverse. Sorry to dump all this on you, but, y'know, just tryin' to help.

Re: Post your Stash!
@Doc: I have a Hauppauge HD PVR which lets me use my A/V cables as a composite, run the video through HDMI cables to my laptop and my TV, after which I can start the recording at any time while the console is on so long as I'm plugged in. I ran this off of my N64, which should give you an idea as to how far back it can go: the setup I found online even showcased SNES games. It can go off of my PC as well, but I'm saving those games for when I beat my (admittedly small) collection of other games.
@Gregar: Yeah, watching it again I wince at every "Uh" and "Uhm". I'll do multiple takes next time, or read off of a list in Word or something. I was a little tired at recording, so I'll get some more energy before the next one. And I'm gonna skip dialog after this. Just because it helps cut down on time.

Re: Post your Stash!
Quick tip, you sounded a little bit tired through that video. Personally, I like it better when the commentator is more excited, and I really hope I'm not alone in that. On a technical level, aside from the fact that you couldn't do live commentary, all I noticed was what seemed to be a bit of glare.
Basically, though, any problems I noticed were, like Nebula said, things that come with more time. So...keep on going, I thought it was really enjoyable for a first video.

Re: Post your Stash!
Got a 2DS, posting from it right now. Along with Snake Eater 3D, a little part of my childhood, Rayman Origins, DK Country Returns, Lego Marvel Superheroes, which I was looking forward to, but it turned out to be nothing close to my expectations (spoiler: it's not a port of the console version) and Pokémon Y, which came with a Lvl 50 Scizor holding a Silver Powder that I haven't been able to redeem because I need the internet patch that I can't download because the eShop sucked a big Christmasy dick.
