Re: The Ideas Topic
I thought Malakili was implying that the post was so bad, you'd want to hang yourself, or that it was so long that you would wand to hang yourself. Which is weird, since his phrasing implied that it was tied around the tree's trunk, and you can't hang yourself that way... last I checked.
That, or you would lose your mind, and he wanted you to be unable to throw yourself into a pit of fire.
...Wait, Malak, you actually looked at it? I forgot you even checked Org.XIV.

Well, when I said "Blake's characters" I was thinking "Blake and friends." Or maybe "Psycho's characters." I tend to mash up my thoughts sometimes...
That said, I read your post in Org. XIV. Personally, I think that's the best you've ever written, as far as I've seen, so I was happy to go through the whole thing.

True. You, Admin, and some others should write a book. Also, I have all these! *Holding a lot of PoDs, which all absorb into me as if I died*

Not gonna lie, the first thing I thought when I saw PoD was "Pool of Darkness." We tend to use CoD (Corridor of Darkness) as an acronym sometimes, otherwise DC. Usually, I prefer DC, because in my mind, comic books beat out Call of Duty any day, but I still tend to associate "oD" with "of Darkness."

Re: The Ideas Topic
...You think so? Man, that's a relief. I was worried the quality had suffered thanks to my fatigue, and the fights were supposed to be tense, awesome scenes. Al's non-stop action in his magic duel, Rex's high-energy clash with his FGA-version self... yeah. Of course, some of the scenes were a collaborated effort between the Admin and I. Basically, all the scenes with Thalia and the one with Maya.
Really? I associate CoD with Cloud of Darkness, the final boss of FFIII. Then again, after Yoshi's Island DS, it was my first DS game ever, and it was my first FF game, and it left a deep impression. But I agree, comics > FPS.

Re: The Ideas Topic
Now define FPS. Is it a FPS...
Like Call of Duty(AKA horse shit, excluding Zombies.)
OR
A FPS like Far Cry 3, with an amazing story, more realistic gameplay, and a plethora of things to do after the main story is said and done, before you even touch multiplayer?

Re: The Ideas Topic
Well, I watch a lot of Let's Plays, so a lot of times I'll look at the comments and 90% of the time there's some crap about "f*ck this sh*t, stop watching this d*ckhead and play some CoD!"
Seeing that all the time not only makes me associate CoD with something that's barely a video game, but it also gives me an irrational distaste for fish.
That said, zombies are boring and the only thing I've heard about Far Cry 3 is from a friend who would rather watch the Uwe Boll Far Cry movie than play the game. Not my personal opinion, since I'm not entitled to one on that game.
Also, been playing through the first few Mega Man games now. I still have trouble with Neon Dragon...slow auto-scrolling and precision platforming do NOT mix well. As far as the first one...it's actually not as hard as I seem to remember. The third is harder than I remember...then again I played a nerfed cell-phone version when I first played...but still, Protoman beats the crap out of me...
None of the games I play seem to ease my hatred for everything tiny, though.

Re: The Ideas Topic
R... really? It's Proto Man who gives you trouble? He literally does the same thing in every fight, never changing his pattern or even reacting to being hit. And you have the Slide maneuver. I mean, in MM3, you have to fight all eight stages and bosses, then re-do four of those stages and go through two boss fights in each of them, and THAT's the hard part. The final dungeon is so generous with E-Tanks that you should never run out of healing.

Re: The Ideas Topic
...I think you of all people would be horrified at how I play Mega Man. That, and I'm terrible at the slide. And it's not like he ever kills me, he just eats a lot of my health. I'm more concerned about "Everything that hurts me is too short for me to hit! GAAAAAH MEGAMAN WHY CAN'T YOU JUST POINT YOUR ARM DOWNWARD?!?!?!"
Protoman is nothing compared to that. ANd like I said, terrible at sliding. And am I the only one who really, REALLY hates Quickman's stage in MM2? I dunno, maybe it's just because I'm terrible at platforming...

Re: The Ideas Topic
……… Something has to be wrong when someone would rather watch an Uwe Boll movie than play the game it's based on. Seriously, that just seems impossible.

Well, the conversation went something like this.
*awkward silence*
Me: So...Uwe Boll's Far Cry.
Friend: It's his best work.
Me: Really?
Friend: Yeah. I'd rather watch that than play Far Cry 3. At least the movie could hold my interest.
So...not so much that he enjoyed the movie as he really didn't like Far Cry 3.

Re: The Ideas Topic
Quick Man's stage is terrible ANYWAY. Even the halfway-cheaty way to get past the lasers, the Flash Stopper, can only be used ONCE, and there are TWO laser-beam-of-death areas. So I'd recommend only using it on the second one. I mean, if you get through the whole stage without using it, you can use it in the fight with Quick Man, and it shaves off HALF HIS HEALTH.

Re: The Ideas Topic
Ehhh, you're wrong on one count. You can use the Time-Stopper twice, if you grind for weapon energy off the torch enemies. As far as Quick Man goes, I prefer launching Crash Bombs from point-blank range.

You know, since Megaman is being discussed, just thought I'd ask this.
Have any of you heard of The Megas?
