Dante rolled and got to his feet. "Because I didn't" he said as he raised his fists. Once again his blades rose noiselesslyfrom their crash sites and trained themselves on Aleri's back. "Fists on blade, fair enough right?"

Aleri smirked. "C'mon, give yourself SOME credit. I know you're not that dumb, but you're not that strong, either." He switched out of Broken Soul, then cast Aerora around himself, creating a gale of wind to protect from malicious, sharp objects nearby.

"I fell for that once, it's not gonna work again so soon."

He immediately rushed at Dante, aiming an upwards swing at him to try and knock him into the air. That would set things up for one of his more spectacular attacks...

Dante jumped back to avoid the swing and leapt forward, kicking out with both legs with his Haste and making himself look a little like Superman while he launched a fist at Aleri's throat.

Aleri quickly sidestepped, attempting another upwards slash on Dante as he passed. "Don't forget; we both have Haste."

He blocked the swing with his arm and rolled once he touched the ground to stop his momentum. Dante slowly stood up and got in his ready stance again. "How could I forget, I'm waiting for it to wear off"

"You do know that it takes a long time to wear off, right? It's very effective in short fights, and we both have Haste. To us, it's gonna take a LONG time to go away. How 'bout I make it a little easier for you?" He doublecasted Slow on Dante, holding out his weapon to block any oncoming attacks, so that he could conentrate for a second. "Now it'll be gone before you know it, and your chances of winning with it!"

Dante ofcourse was moving at such a rate, snails were like racecars, but he focused on casting a haste spell on himself to put himself a normal pace. He quickly regained his natural speed, but knew Aleri was still faster then him without another Haste, he needed to by time....or find out how Reflect worked on his own by the end of this battle. Dante casted Haste on himself, then drew out the last few swallows of Ether and used only half.

Aleri smirked. "That look on your face tells me that you're thinking... you look kinda intimidating like that. Too bad you're not a little taller. Then you'd have the intimidation effect going... Well, break time's over."

He pulled a glowing, blue cube out of his pocket, put it in his mouth, and chewed on it. "This is called a 'Dry Ether', or 'High Ether'. Some people call it based on effectiveness, some because it's not a liquid like its predecessor. Now, back to beating you up..." He held his left hand above his head, generating a giant fireball.

"This is Firaga, the tier three Fire spell." The flames reflected in Aleri's eyes menacingly. "...Too bad I never taught you Reflect. It would've been so useful right now... In more ways than one."

Dante started to back up from the blazing ball. 'If I can just imagine a barrier or a feeling of protection...' he taught. "'Magic only reflects once didn't I tell you that'" Aleri had said. "Throw it then, lets see if I can use it before it hits me!" He said.

<Ehhhh, Dante moved on as if it didn't. I lost my chance to allow it to become reality.>

Aleri cracked his neck. "Alright. Just a fair warning, you'll be badly scorched if you fail. Ready?"

His hand twitched, and the fireball stopped growing. It was finished charging.

"DRAW!" He yelled, slamming it down upon Dante.

Dante pushed his palms up. "Reflect!" He said as a glass like barrier surrounded him, the flames hit but it bounced right back at it's creator. "Hey I got!"

Aleri smiled. "Well, this'll hurt..."

There was a massive(ly well-contained) explosion, burning up the air, ground, and even consuming Aleri in blinding red light.

"GrrraaaaaAAAAAAAAHHH!!"

When the he had finished screaming, and the light faded, he was gone. Nothing but snow-like, white ashes remained on the ground.

Then he reappeared, bringing his blade down on Dante from above.

"You thought... that I... would be fried so easily!? As if I would... become a charred crisp... what with my... high magic defense!"

Dante pulled up his hand, suddenly holding his bone sword in it to parry the blow before dragging the other hand to his chest. "Did you think I didn't plan on that?" He said as more bone weapons started rising up. He griped Aleri's collarbone and used his momentum to sling him (like a wrestler) away from him. Dante pointed the sword at his opponent. "Go, 101 graveyard bones!" He said just creating the move, the bones pointed at Aleri and started launching themselves at him like a firing squad on one side and slashing at him from the other.

Aleri was unable to escape the attack, taking innumerable(?) stabs and cut wounds from the bones shooting at him. Some of them were unable to puncture him, some were met with what little armor he had on, but even what protection he had began to crumble under the sheer force of the attacks.

"AAAAAUUUUUUUUGH!!"

He cried out in agony as he was being cut apart by the barrage. When it stopped, he fell to his knees, then faceplanted. "Ugh... I guess I should've... taken you more seriously..." His blood was mixing with the ashes on the ground, staining the ground. "Even if I didn't go... full-force on you... a loss is a loss..."

The downed warrior tried to push himself up for a second, but only succeeded in rolling over. "Well... I guess you won. You managed to catch me off guard, and I... got frantic as my senses started to fail me. The... the effect of Regen just had to wear of NOW of... all times. Well, at least I can... heal myself."

He summoned up his magic and cast a powerful healing spell, Curaga. His wounds all sealed, stopping the bleeding. It replicated some of the lost blood, and knitted together torn muscles and broken bone.

Aleri was surprisingly light-hearted for somebody who had just been on the brink of death. "Ahaha, that last attack was LETHAL! Be careful with that one, if you'd hit too many of my internal organs, I may not have gotten back up! Good thing I have a resilient body... I'm sure most people would have just died. And if the stabbing didn't kill, the blood loss would! And it hurt like nobody's business, too! You should save that one for the REALLY tough fights. In fact, I'm still aching..."

Beaten, he sighed in the horrific shame. "...And now I've been beaten by a kid younger than me... I'll never hear the end of this."

Dante patted Aleri on the shoulder, when after a zombie picked him up. "It's okay Al....I'll only tell Lance and his friends....and maybe this Rexial Character you told me about...oh and I'm nine so you really should try to say you let me win or someone may think you're losing your touch"

Aleri shook his head. "I try to be honest. You out-maneuvered me. I got tired, you caught me off guard. Regardless of my speed or strength, my SKILL needs improvement. That much I knew already."

"If I had chosen to fight at full strength, it would not have been pretty. But I still fought with all my skill, and you won in that regard." He opened another Light Corridor. "...Well, you've got the basics of White Magic down pat, and I'd say your fighting skills in general have improved. I'll teach you a couple more spells, then we should call it a day. It's getting dark."

"Cramming too much over a short period of time is a bad way to improve. Pace yourself, and train over a longer period of time, if you truly wish to get better. We've done plenty for now, and I don't quite feel up to another fight yet."

"Thanks." Aleri nodded, gesturing to the LC. ...And that goes for me, too. If I'm gonna rebuild my fighting style from the ground up, it'll take some time.

Aleri followed, closing the corridor behind himself. "Well, let's just teach you Cura, Confuse, and Silence."

"For Cura, you have to do the same as with Cure, but you have to put triple the energy into the spell, and focus on the areas of injury. For Curaga, you have to focus on the exact injuries, and for Curaja, you have to focus on exactly how they will heal. And as you get to higher tiers, if requires more energy. Plus, it's hard to focus. Just do Cura for now."

"For Silence, block all sounds from you mind, then project the void onto the target. Silence prevents you from being able to cast spells, and sometimes from talking. I'm not really sure how it works... I think it prevents you from focusing your magic energy to cast spells. You have to use items or have somebody else heal you from this status."

"For Confuse... you don't focus at all. In fact, you let the sense of chaos build in your mind, then project that on your enemy. It'll make 'em go crazy and attack friend and foe alike. Sometimes, they'll even heal randomly. Of course, when confused, a good knock on the head will set a person straight."
